From “Not quite ready” to “Keys in hand”
At Irish Mortgage Corporation, we know that the path to homeownership rarely follows a straight line and Amy and Fraser’s journey is a great example of how the right advice, preparation and timing can make all the difference.
Amy first came to us in July 2025, after her brother had already completed his own mortgage with Irish Mortgage Corporation. Like many first-time buyers, Amy and Fraser were not yet mortgage-ready at that stage, so we worked with them to put a clear plan in place and give them the best possible foundation for the months ahead.
A key part of that plan was getting their regular savings in order. By October, they were ready to move forward, and we submitted their mortgage application to Bank of Ireland.
Although Amy and Fraser hadn’t expected to find a property quite so quickly, while their application was progressing they went sale agreed on a newly built home in Co. Kildare. With very tight timelines from the builder and a target to complete around the end of December or start of January, the pressure was on. Especially with the Christmas period adding further complexity.
That’s where careful coordination really mattered.
We worked closely with Amy and Fraser throughout the process to keep everything moving and to ensure there were no unnecessary delays. Thanks to that teamwork, Bank of Ireland released the funds on 20 January, allowing the sale to complete successfully.
We were delighted to help Amy and Fraser secure their first home together. Just down the road from Amy’s hometown and in a location that means so much to Michelle who handled their mortgage application.
Their story is a reminder that with the right plan, the right preparation and the right support, first-time buyers can move from “not quite ready” to “keys in hand” much sooner than they expect.
